Gor Mahia produced another perfect performance as they hammered Chemelil Sugar 3-0 in Kisumu on Thursday to go nine points clear at the top of the Kenyan Premier League.
Coming at the back of a 4-0 demolition of Nzoia United in the weekend, the 15 time league champions were in no mood to drop any points.
Knowing they would have a comfortable lead at the top following Sofapaka’s 2-1 loss to Ulinzi Stars on Wednesday, K’Ogalo were two up by the half hour from a brace by Rwanda international Jacques Tuyisenge in the 23rd and 29th minutes. Kenneth Muguna sealed the rout in the 63rd to place Gor Mahia at 50 points.
There was no Harun Shakava and Karim Nzigiyimana in defense for Gor Mahia but their absence was rarely felt as Musa Mohammed, anchoreed by Wellington Ochieng, Joash Onyango and Innocent Wafula were up to the task.
Tuyisenge was to beat Jairus Adira for the first goal after being set up by George Odhiambo “Blackberry@
He added the second with an overhead kick from a Meddie Kagere after a Wellington Ochieng cross.
Midfielder Kenneth Muguna combined ell with Kagere to net in the third for K’Ogalo.
Chemelil has now conceded seven goals in two games. They lost 4-1 to Sofapaka in the weekend.
