AFC Leopards were felled 0-1 by Western Stima as the Kenyan Premier League entered its 17th round on Saturday.
Sofapaka and Muhoroni Youth played to a one all draw same as Kakamega Homeboyz and Mathare United while Chemelil Sugar and Thika United played to a barren draw in Awasi.
But the focus was at Nyayo Stadium where Ingwe were up against Western Stima, their bogey team.
Stima had been languishing in the relegation zone and had been finding winning more difficult than losing. But Henry Omino has said in the past he knows how to beat AFC Leopards and his side did exactly that, a 10th minute header by Ezekiel Otuoma making the difference.
AFC Leopards worked hard to equalise but could not. They remain 11th with 19 points two ahead of 15th placed Western Stima.
Earlier at the same venue Sofapaka were held to a one all draw by Muhoroni Youth.
Sofapaka took the lead through Ezekiel Okare’s penalty but a late Bliss Kityo strike, six minutes to the final whistle restored parity as the sides shared the spoils.
Mathare United complained of biased officiating by Nyabera Libese as they played to a one all drawn with at the Mumias Complex in a Round 17 match against Kakamega Homeboyz.
Chris Ochieng’ opened the scoring in the 71st minute before Wycliffe Ochomo restored parity in the 88th minute after converting a dubious penalty awarded by Nyabera.
The two sides face off again in the reverse tie slated for Wednesday 2 August.
